headQR - AI conversational agent for your tenants
HeadQR is an AI-powered conversational assistant designed for tourism and hospitality professionals. Accessible via a simple QR code placed inside accommodations, HeadQR provides guests with instant, 24/7 answers to their questions: Wi-Fi access, house rules, local recommendations, cultural and family-friendly activities, practical information, and more.
Built on Joomla 6+, the platform allows hosts, property managers, hotels, and premium rentals to centralize and control all guest information in one place, without requiring a mobile app. The assistant adapts to multilingual audiences, reduces repetitive questions, and enhances the overall guest experience while reinforcing a modern, premium brand image.

HeadQR was built on Joomla 6+ as a modular, extensible platform tailored for tourism and hospitality use cases. The site relies on Joomla’s native MVC architecture, custom components, plugins, and multilingual capabilities to deliver a scalable and secure foundation.
A key specificity of the project is the deep integration of AI conversational features. The assistant is powered by external AI APIs and uses function-based logic to dynamically provide contextual information such as local weather, nearby events, and accommodation-specific data, while keeping sensitive information under full control of the site owner.
The user interface was designed with a mobile-first approach, as most guests access the assistant by scanning a QR code from inside their accommodation. No mobile application is required, which significantly lowers friction for end users.
One of the main challenges was balancing flexibility and simplicity: allowing hosts to configure rich, multilingual content while keeping the experience intuitive for non-technical users. Another difficulty involved managing API reliability, performance, and fallback mechanisms to ensure the assistant remains usable even when external services are unavailable.
HeadQR also places strong emphasis on privacy, data ownership, and GDPR compliance, avoiding invasive tracking and ensuring that guest interactions remain secure. The result is a lightweight yet powerful Joomla-based solution that enhances guest autonomy while reducing operational workload for hosts.
